Cursussen Freedom of Religion

Het "Freedom of Religion or Belief Learning Platform" is een initiatief van het Nordic Ecumenical Network on Freedom of Religion or Belief (NORFORB) in partnerschap met een breed scala aan seculiere en religieuze organisaties dat tracht het recht op vrijheid van religie of geloof te bevorderen. 

In het najaar van 2019 biedt het platform een serie gratis online cursussen (in het Engels) aan over deze thematiek.

Course information

Each course is run online over an 10 week period, with on average one 2 hour conference call plus approximately 2.5 hours of online course work per week doing modules and assignments, around 40 hours in total.

 

Target audience and course contents

The course targets people who would like to be able to train others in Freedom of Religion or Belief using interactive training methods. The course includes the following 10 modules that focus both on learning about FORB and training methodology: Introduction to human rights education; Human rights education – building blocks, methods and exercises; Introduction to Human Rights; Introduction to religious literacy; Introduction to Freedom of Religion or Belief (FORB); FORB in relation to other rights, development and peace; Understanding FORB in the local context; Ways of working to promote FORB; Evaluating and following up training; The art of facilitation
The course involves assignments which focus, for example, on developing a FORB context analysis for the context in which you work, developing session plans for trainings and an action plan.
Although this is an online course it is a group course and you will be expected to participate actively in the weekly online workshops.
